About us Carl & Velma Forsyth
CarVel Skate Center’s story is inseparable from the Forsyth family legacy. Carl and Velma Forsyth arrived in San Antonio in 1960, bringing their passion for roller skating. Their enthusiasm for the sport was so great they eventually established six skating rinks throughout the city.
Their commitment to skating wasn’t just business—it was a way of life. This dedication earned Carl and Velma places in the USA Roller Sports Hall of Fame.
Today, the tradition continues with Carl & Velma’s daughter, Koprecia.
